Do you have any idea about the suitable ages of children to start to teach them about saving money?

I like all idea you post but the most is no.1 "Drive to different parts of your city with your children and point out different living conditions." It's a very cool and fastest idea to teach them, I thinks.

Don't get them expensive cell phones at the age of 11! My son has a PREPAID cell phone, which is MUCH less that the iphones his friends are carrying around. I just dont get it. I know he need s a cell phone so that I can get in contact with him if he's at school and I'm running a little late or he's at a birthday party, etc. But to spend $80 a month on a cell phone for a child is RIDICULOUS! I bought my son a prepaid cell phone on the Straight Talk Plan (Verizon Network) and I pay $30 a month for 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts, and 30MB of data. More than necessary, but cheaper than any contract phone out there. Best part is that even if he tried, he cannot go over minutes or texts. Parenting has just become that much more simpler.
